Oral and Video Histories

The Library will facilitate oral and video histories of dealers and collectors who played a formative role in shaping American collecting during the 20th century. These oral and video histories of contemporary collectors will create primary documentation for future historians of the history of collecting in America, and, in some cases, on living artists as well. To this end, consultation with colleagues at Columbia University and other libraries of the New York Art Resources Consortium (NYARC) is ongoing. The long-term goal is to build an archive of oral and video histories that will become part of the larger archives holdings of the Frick.
