The Frick Collection is pleased to provide an Acoustiguide audio tour, a random-access digital audio guide that offers recorded information about the masterpieces on view through a handheld listening device. The system, which provides up to three hours of material in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish is included in the price of admission.
Please visit our Museum Shop for books on related subjects, also available in various languages. In a departure from standard tape-recorded tours, which tend to cluster large groups around certain works along a predetermined route, the Acoustiguide audio tour enables visitors to choose, by pressing the unit's pushbuttons, the item or room about which they wish to learn. Topics can be selected or repeated, in any order, or skipped entirely, giving the listener freedom to create an individual tour. The flexibility of the Acoustiguide audio tour is particularly well suited to The Frick Collection, where installations do not follow a chronological scheme but instead blend paintings, sculpture, and decorative art from various periods. For additional information, see Accessibility. For more information about the tour technology, see Acoustiguide.com.
