Through on-site seminars led by distinguished professors at area institutions and adjunct teaching positions held by Library and Collections staff, the Frick Art Reference Library has re-established the strong relationship with academia that was central to Helen Clay Frick’s original vision. This, combined with the Graduate school orientations and summer internship program for undergraduates, ensures that future generations of scholars will be as aware of the value of the Library’s resources as their forebears were.
For the future, as the Center for the History of Collecting in America expands, research fellowships, both short- and long-term, will become part of the Library’s programming. In this endeavor, The Frick Collection and Art Reference Library membership in ARIAH (Association of Research Institutes in Art History) will continue to be a source for collegial support and a forum for developing collaborative ventures.
