Lists more than two million items sold at hundreds of auction houses worldwide. Sales from the early 1980s to the present are included, with new sales added daily. Covers fine arts (including paintings, watercolors, sculpture, photography, prints, drawings, and installations). Includes unsold lots. Images available for many of the lots.

Artprice.com
Index of auction sales results and images from 1700 to the present. Coverage is extensive from around 1990. Contains more than four million records from forty countries. Offers full-text searching of more than 290,000 scanned auction catalogs. Covers fine arts (including paintings, drawings, photography, prints, posters, sculpture, installations, miniatures, and tapestries). Please see a Reading Room staff member for access.

ARTstor
Provides curated collections of art images and associated data for scholarly, nonprofit educational use. More than 300,000 images available. Provides storage space for creating personally tailored collections of images as well as online and offline image viewers, with their unique zoom capabilities, that allow for the detailed examination of images. Individual registration, free of charge, is required to access all options. Remote access to registered users is offered for ninety days after logging in at an ARTstor-affiliated institution. Requires download to use and access the offline image viewer.

Indexes the contents of more than 300 art and design publications from around the world, for the years 1984 to the present. Included publications.

Art Sales Catalogues Online
Searchable database version of Frits Lugt's Répertoire des catalogues de ventes publiques for the years 1600 to 1900. Includes additions and corrections of the original publication. Lists auction catalogs holdings for the Frick Art Reference Library and other institutions. Allows full text online access to a number of auction catalogs listed in the database.

Arts and Humanities Search
Lists articles from more than 6,000 of the world's leading journals, from 1980 to the present. Facilitates tracing bibliographic citations within articles, including footnotes, bibliographies, and cited artworks. Included publications.

Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals
Lists articles published around the world for more than 2,000 periodicals on the subjects of architecture and design, archaeology, city planning, interior design, and historic preservation from the 1930s to the present. Included publications.

Bibliography of the History of Art (BHA)
Indexes and abstracts the contents of more than 4,000 periodicals, as well as many books, conference proceedings, dissertations, and exhibition and dealers' catalogs for the years 1973 to the present. Includes and extends the coverage of its two predecessor indexes: Répertoire d'Art et d'Archéologie (RAA), and International Repertory of the Literature of Art (RILA).

Books in Print
Publisher-provided citations for all currently available books from more than 44,000 North American publishers, as well as forthcoming and recently out-of-print titles.

Britannica Online
Electronic version of the Encyclopaedia Britannica. Consists of a fully searchable and browsable collection of authoritative references, including articles not yet in the print version of the Encyclopaedia Britannica, Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, and the Britannica Book of the Year.

CAMIO
High-resolution image database of more than 90,000 objects held in museums mainly in North America, covering ancient to contemporary art. Photography, painting, sculpture, decorative arts, prints, drawings and watercolors, jewelry and costumes, textiles and architecture are included. For non-profit, scholarly use only. Dissertation Abstracts
Lists doctoral dissertations granted in the United States since 1861, with abstracts added since 1980. Includes some masters theses and foreign dissertations as well.

FirstSearch
Online service that provides access to more than thirty general and specialized databases, including WorldCat, Art & Humanities Search, Dissertation Abstracts, Newspaper Abstracts, Wilson Select Plus, and Books in Print. Gordon's Print Prices
Index of auction results for Old Master, Modern, and Contemporary prints. Contains more than 825,000 auction results. Covers the years 1985 to the present.

Index to 19th-Century American Art Periodicals
Indexes and abstracts forty-two major journals published in the United States for the years 1840 to 1907.

JSTOR
Full-text access to the Arts & Sciences III Collection, which contains archived back issues of periodicals dealing with art, art history, architecture, architectural history, music, film studies, folklore, language, literature, performing arts, philosophy, and religion. Art Bulletin, Art Journal, Burlington Magazine, October, Gesta, Journal of Architectural Historians, Metropolitan Museum Journal, and Women's Art Journal are some of the titles available. Montias Database
A database of nearly 1,300 primary documents from the Gemeentearchief in Amsterdam, containing references to more than 50,000 works of art and compiled by the late Yale University Professor John Michael Montias. Currently, the Frick is the only site to offer the complete version of this wealth of information pertaining to patterns of buying, selling, inventorying, and collecting art in Holland during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The Getty Research Institute Web site offers access to information in 333 of these documents through the Getty Provenance Index database. Please see a Reading Room staff member for access.

Newspaper Abstracts
Lists articles from thirty-two major United States newspapers, from 1991 to the present. Updated weekly. Included publications.

Oxford Art Online
Full-text version of the Grove Dictionary of Art, Oxford Companion to Western Art, Encyclopedia of Aesthetics, and Concise Oxford Dictionary of Art Terms. Includes images. Offers biography, bibliography, and image search options; as well as art history timelines. Links to ARTstor and Art Resource databases.

SCIPIO: Art and Rare Book Sales Catalogs
Lists auction sales catalogs owned by more than twenty research institutions mainly in the United States and Canada, including all of the more than 73,000 auction sales catalogs owned by the Frick Art Reference Library. Records can be searched by date of sale, place of sale, catalog title, auction house name, sellers, institutional holdings, and other information.

Wilson Select Plus
General periodicals index, with full-text of many of the articles provided online. Coverage from 1994 to the present (varies by title) of more than 800 journals and magazines from all fields, including such art-related publications as Archivo Español de Arte, Art Bulletin, Art Journal, Art Nexus, Gazette des Beaux-Arts, Goya, Jahrbuch der Kunsthistorischen Sammlungen in Wien, Revue du Louvre et des Musées de France, Sixteenth Century Journal and Wallraf-Richartz-Jahrbuch.
