Advance timed tickets are strongly recommended. Reservations are encouraged for members.

Children under 10 are not admitted.

Tickets may not be resold, exchanged, or transferred.

Doors close at 5:30 p.m. Galleries begin to close at 5:45 p.m.

Visitors are not allowed to carry oversized items into the galleries.

Discounted admission is offered for people with disabilities, and free admission is extended to a care partner.

Transportation Information

  • By Subway: 6 train to 77th Street at Lexington Avenue, Q train to 72nd Street at Second Avenue, or 1/2/3 train to 72nd Street at Broadway. From the Q or 1/2/3, transfer to the crosstown M72 bus to Madison Avenue and 72nd Street.
  • By Bus: northbound M1, M3, M4 to Madison Avenue and 74th Street, southbound M1, M3, M4 to Fifth Avenue and 75th Street.
  • Citi Bike rental stations are located at 76th Street and Park Avenue, 72nd Street and Park Avenue, and 72nd Street and Fifth Avenue.
  • Limited street parking is available. There are parking garages in the area.
  • Taxis and rideshares may drop off in front of the main entrance and pick up on the west side of Madison Avenue. No idling is allowed in the bus lane in front of the museum.

Plan Your Visit

May I purchase tickets in advance?

Yes, advance timed tickets are available and strongly recommended. Reservations are encouraged for members. For more information see Tickets.

Are there COVID-19 safety requirements I should be aware of?

Yes. Please read our health and safety guidelines.

What time do the galleries close?

Doors close at 5:30 p.m. Galleries begin to close at 5:45 p.m. See more information on museum hours.

What are your security procedures?

A bag check by a Security Officer will be performed upon entry. For more information, see Security Procedures.

May I bring a child in a stroller or backpack?

No, children under 10 are not allowed in the galleries because few ropes or cases are used to protect fragile objects. If two people are coming with a child, we suggest that one wait with the child in the Lobby while the other visits the galleries.

Are you open late any evening?

May I reserve tickets for a group visit?
Reservations for groups of ten or more can be scheduled by emailing groupreservations@frick.org or by calling 212-547-6849. Group reservations must be booked at least two weeks in advance. See Group Reservations for details.

Do you offer complimentary admission to visitors with disabilities?

Discounted admission is offered for people with disabilities, and free admission is extended to a care partner.

Do you offer complimentary admission to SNAP/EBT cardholders?
The Frick participates in the Museums for All program, granting free admission to SNAP/EBT cardholders with photo ID and up to three guests.
Is there a time I can enter for free or pay what I wish?
You can pay what you wish on Thursdays from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. 
Do you offer complimentary admission to AAM, ICOM, and reciprocal members?
Two complimentary tickets are provided to AAM, ICOM, and reciprocal members with valid ID. Refer to these instructions on how to reserve.

Amenities

Are there dining facilities?

Yes. The SisterYard, on the lower ground level, offers specialty beverages and bites. Outdoor seating is available in our sunken garden. Members receive a 20% discount on purchases.

Is there a parking garage or parking facilities?

No, there is only street parking.

Tours and Audio Guides

Are there guided tours?

The Frick Collection offers online guided tours for school groups and private groups. In-person private tours of Frick Madison are available exclusively for members.

Does the Frick offer an audio guide?

The Frick Collection offers a mobile guide through the Bloomberg Connects app.

Photography

May I take photographs?

Still photography is permitted only in the Lobby, not in the galleries. Read more on our photography policy.
