Introduction to Web Archives

In today’s online environment, websites have become important cultural resources and research objects, as increasingly the activities and publications of galleries, museums, artists, and auction houses occur solely online with no analog counterpart. But how does one ensure future access to this increasingly dynamic content? The practice of web archiving offers a means of preserving and providing access to ephemeral web-based art resources in support of art historical scholarship.
