America and the Art of Flanders: Collecting Paintings by Rubens, Van Dyck, and Their Circles

The Frick’s Center for the History of Collecting and the Delegation of Flanders to the USA invite you to the Virtual Book Launch of America and the Art of Flanders: Collecting Paintings by Rubens, Van Dyck, and Their Circles, Thursday, November 19, 12:00​ to 1:30 p.m. EST.

The program will begin with an introduction by the Frick’s Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Director Ian Wardropper, the General Delegate of Flanders to the USA Yves Wantens, and Head of Research Louisa Wood Ruby.

A presentation by the book’s editor, Esmée Quodbach, will follow, along with a panel moderated by Marjorie Wieseman, National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C., featuring Anne Woollett, J. Paul Getty Museum; Adam Eaker, The Metropolitan Museum of Art; and independent scholar Margaret Laster. The event will culminate with a conversation between Arthur K. Wheelock Jr. and collector Thomas Leysen.
