Frick Five: Emma Capron
In the sixth episode of “Frick Five,” Xavier F. Salomon, Deputy Director and Peter Jay Sharp Chief Curator, interviews Emma Capron, Associate Curator of Renaissance Painting at the National Gallery, London, and a former Anne L. Poulet Curatorial Fellow at the Frick. Emma answers our five questions, expressing her wish to be “deep-frozen” in a portrait by the 16th-century Italian painter Agnolo Bronzino (Agnolo di Cosimo). “I would like [to be portrayed with] a wonderfully frozen attitude. . . . He’s just very chic.” The artists and writers mentioned in this episode include: Enguerrand Quarto, Étienne Chevalier, Charles Baudelaire, Philip Glass, René Magritte, Peter Paul Rubens, and Bronzino.
