Preserving the Frick’s Treasures for Generations to Come

May 14, 2024

In a behind-the-scenes look at our ongoing renovation project, Ian Wardropper, Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Director, speaks with Joe Godla, Chief Conservator, about the museum’s new Sherman Fairchild Center for Art Conservation. The state-of-the-art facilities will support the treatment and study of the thousands of three-dimensional artworks in our permanent collection. Together with a new book and paper conservation studio, this space will greatly enhance the vital work of our conservators, who provide world-class care for the Frick’s treasures and historic home. To learn more about the renovation and enhancement project, visit https://www.frick.org/renovation. Many of the Frick's historic interiors and other types of artworks, including paintings, textiles, and works on paper, are treated in partnership with outside conservators.
