In the fall of 2014, The Frick Art Reference Library (FARL) received a one year grant from the Metropolitan New York Library Council (METRO) to digitize catalogues of private art collections from its holdings. To highlight this digital project, Documenting Art Collections in Gilded Age New York, an online exhibition was created using Google Arts & Culture. This exhibit showcases the resources found at FARL, presenting the important place they have in the history of art and art collecting and includes a short video by Inge Reist, Director of the Center for the History of Collecting. All inquiries related to this exhibition may be directed to the FARL reference division.
All included materials are held at The Frick Collection/ Frick Art Reference Library and Archives with the exception of:
